Location - within walking distance of many bars and restaurants and Tung Si Meuang (Candle Park). The River Mun, as it passes alongside the older Chinatown, is a short drive (15-20 minute walk). The size and cleanliness of room/bathroom, the size/comfort of the 6 foot king bed and the hotel's easy parking (in addition to its location) makes this a standout high value icon amongst the budget hotels in Ubon town. I have been coming to the town and staying in hotels almost monthly for 13 years, but do try other hotels also. Phadaeng is my most regular choice. While it does not have a regular breakfast- inclusive option, there are tables and chairs next to reception and early risers can get a 'help yourself' few small chinese donuts, bananas, toast and jam and coffee/tea. Come down later (say after 7.30 am) and the donuts and bananas typically will have gone! This is a unique free addition among the supposedly accomodation-only hotels in town. You will pay typically 200 to 300 baht more per room night for hotels with an equivalent accomodation standard and a sit down standard breakfast room. For foreigners, reception staff speak some basic English and the owner's daughter is often around and is fluent. The hotel is regularly used by foreign tourists and Thai residing expats. Nearby (3 minutes walk) 'Wrong Way Bar Cafe' is a regular haunt for locally resident and visiting foreigners and has a good range of Thai and international food in addition to usual bar offerings of beer/spirits/wine (plus regular size pool table and sport events on TV). The ever-present lady proprietor is a fluent English speaker and good source of local information.

Spacious large room with decent size bathroom. Comfortable yet firm bed mattress with pillows. High floor rooms have ceiling fans that help keep rooms cool. Fantastic outside balcony with kitchen sink. Cool and clean air conditioner that works well. Large flat TV. Lovely art decor throughout the entire room and hotel. Excellent hot water shower plus extra non heated shower in bathroom. Free coffee and all-you-can-eat bread every morning. Friendly helpful staff that speak decent English. Next day laundry service offered.

This hotel is definitely good value for the price when you have a layover in Ubon. I had a huge king size bed (which I personally found very comfortable), a little balcony, a mini fridge, AC, hot and cold water. In the morning, you have complementary tea/coffee with bread, jam and patongo (Chinese doughnut). Bus 15 stops nearby if you need to go to the airport or bus station (20 THB). It’s located 10 minutes walking from the morning market and nigh market, which is very convenient for food options. WiFi works well.

So clean! Spacious. They cleaned the room everyday including changing sheets and towels and moping the floor. You also get 2 bottles of free water everyday. Environmentally not that good that they changed sheets and towels everyday but there were also no signs to opt out of it. I liked that there’s a balcony with sink and water and space to hang laundry! Also an empty fridge to store stuff. For the price definitely worth it and would for sure stay again and recommend it to everyone who wants to go to Ubon!

Great value for money. Rooms are large with good facilities. Lots of cupboards, hanging, desk area etc. Good sized bathroom as well. Small balcony with sink for washing and hanging clothes. All very clean with quality towels and bedding. Hotel is bright and airy with a large display of art (copies) on the walls. Everything from Michelangelo to Monet. Staff pleasant and helpful, rooms made up daily. Basic breakfast of toast and coffee.
